Pause, Breathe, receive

A December Reminder to Enjoy the Fruits of Our Labor!

December has a way of rushing in like a snowstorm—beautiful, sparkly, and a little overwhelming. Between holiday planning, work deadlines, family commitments, and the pressure we put on ourselves to “finish the year strong,” it’s easy to forget something sacred: We were never meant to live life only racing from one task to the next.

This month, I’m reminding myself—and inviting you—to pause. To breathe. To slow down long enough to recognize the fruits of our labor… and to actually enjoy them. You’ve Done More Than You Think. Maybe you didn’t check every goal off your list. Maybe the year didn’t unfold perfectly. But look at you. You showed up. You tried. You carried things no one saw. You grew in quiet ways God hasn’t even revealed the purpose for yet. Rest isn’t a reward for doing “enough” — it’s a rhythm we’re meant to live in. December calls us back to that rhythm.

This month, take time to appreciate:

✨ The home you’ve worked so hard to make peaceful

✨ The children or loved ones who just want your presence, not your perfection

✨ The goals you did reach, even the small, quiet ones

✨ The strength it took to get through the hard moments

✨ The laughs, the meals, the memories you’ve been too busy to savor

These are the fruits of your labor. Let yourself taste them. Make Space for What Really Matters December isn’t just about finishing the year. It’s about grounding yourself in what lasts:

❤️ Family time that fills the heart

❤️ Conversations that heal

❤️ A moment alone with God to refill your soul

❤️ Small joys—hot cocoa, quiet mornings, twinkling lights

❤️ Rest without guilt

Slow down enough to see the beauty you’ve created, the blessings you carry, and the goodness already in your life.

This month, choose one thing each week:

– A day with no rushing

– A simple tradition you can enjoy without pressure

– An hour to yourself, where your only job is to breathe

– A moment to thank God for how far you’ve come

Let December be a month of giving and receiving—not striving. You’ve poured out so much this year. Now it’s time to pause and enjoy the harvest. Wishing you and your family the absolute best holiday season this year.

I would LOVE to hear from you. Please send in your thoughts about this article.
